All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's inspection. Different manufacturers have different standards for product quality. Basically, products that can be used normally are within the product specifications.

Examples of possible initial defects : If you notice any of the following symptoms immediately after opening the product, it may be due to an initial defect.

  • (Bind model only) The bearing barely turns even when flicked with a finger.
  • Even after calming the vibrations with a rotating middle finger, the yo-yo still vibrates so much that it appears to change shape.
  • Parts that should have been installed (bearings/pads) are not installed

Examples of items that are not considered initial defects

  • Damage to the package
  • Color image difference
  • Bearing noises after playing a few times
  • A yo-yo that was delivered in a properly assembled state, but after being disassembled, could no longer be assembled
  • Scratches and paint chips inside the bearing area
  • The color unevenness of the yo-yo is not noticeable from a distance.
  • Paint chipping that is not visible from a distance
  • Scratches on the yo-yo that are not visible from a distance and are barely noticeable when touched with your fingers

Description

REWIND x SUS YOYO MECHANICS - Act2

A 3A all-rounder, the signature bimetal model of 3A instructor Shotaro Matsuda.

Our goal was to create a 3A all-rounder to serve as 3A instructor Shotaro Matsuda's signature bimetal throw.

This is a collaboration model between SUS Yo-Yo Mechanics and Rewind, and is the second generation of SUS Yo-Yo Mechanics' first 3A yo-yo: Act.

This "Act" series is made as a signature of Rewind 3A instructor Shotaro Matsuda, and is a sibling model sharing some design concepts with Yuki Takami's signature "Trial" series.

It was created to be a standard yo-yo for beginning 3A players and as a reliable sidekick for 3A players, with Matsuda's many years of experience and knowledge as a 3A instructor.

In 2024, the design was changed: the rim shape was adjusted, and the yo-yo shrunk slightly and was made lighter, making it easier to handle. The gap has also been narrowed slightly to increase the success rate of bind tricks.

Both Act and Trial are top-of-the-line models suitable for both beginners and experts, and their silhouettes are very similar, so they will surely be useful no matter which one you start your 3A career with. Knowing the production concept of each, you can approach 3A with a deeper knowledge of the character of this work. Please take a look at the design comments as well as the comments from Shotaro below.

SUS Designer's Comment

The production started when Yuki Takami, a Rewind 2A instructor, asked us for "a yo-yo that can be used in 3A that I would enjoying playing." We felt that the concept and direction of the yo-yo had potential, so we eventually decided to create two separate models.

Although the diameter, width, weight, rim joining method, and appearance may look like different models, the basic shape of the Act and Trial is exactly the same. In particular, the profile from the edge to the control edge is identical. The weight distribution in the width direction is also almost the same, and they are truly siblings with a common "backbone" that is quite close in value, except for power.

Both models are high-power bimetal models, but Matsuda's Act seeks stability with more power while reducing the weight at the start of the throw. Takami's Trial is sized for 3A, but is balanced so that players in other divisions will not feel uncomfortable even if they try 3A.

The Act focuses on power from its diameter and outer rim, while the Trial stands out for its weight and balance from its inner rim.

Although they have the same basic structure, they are siblings born from completely different approaches. We hope you will compare them and find enjoyment in their similarities and differences.

Comment from Shotaro Matsuda

Based on feedback from a wide range of players, from 3A beginners to advanced players, we have completed a yo-yo that is even gentler and more cohesive.

With the aim of creating a yo-yo that is "easy to use for everyone, right in the middle of 3A yo-yos," the specs have been slightly changed to improve operability while retaining the "power" that is the strength of the previous model. In addition, the rounded rim reduces impact and scratchiness at the time of catch, allowing you to tackle play with peace of mind.

We hope you will experience ACT2, which is a slight change, but has a very different feel.
